NSW vs Melbourne Harmony Cup

MFIS students Shines at the NSW vs Melbourne Harmony Cup!

We are thrilled to announce that three of our Year 6 students—Alayna Rustom, Safiyah Amarni, and Hamza Chami—were selected to represent NSW at the State Harmony Cup! With the unwavering support of their families and our school, these talented athletes traveled to Melbourne to compete against other Islamic schools in futsal (soccer) and basketball, culminating in an exciting NSW vs. Melbourne State of Origin playoff.

Day 1: Futsal Triumph
Both our boys’ and girls’ teams dominated the futsal tournament, winning every match and emerging undefeated champions. Their outstanding skills and teamwork were truly inspiring, and both teams proudly brought home the championship trophies.

Day 2: Basketball Brilliance
The basketball tournament tested our resilience, with both teams starting slow and losing their first two games. However, they showed incredible determination and fought back to secure spots in the grand finals. The boys’ team delivered an exceptional performance, clinching victory in the finals and earning a third trophy for NSW. The girls’ team played with heart and grit, narrowly missing victory by just one point in a nail-biting finish.

We are incredibly proud of our students’ achievements and their sportsmanship. May Allah (SWT) continue to bless them with success in this life and the next!
